Today something really exciting happened. My blog has been read over 51,000 times. That means 51,000 times someone has read about the power and hope of Jesus Christ. That's big news!
I'm no one special. In fact, from the outside looking in most people would think my life is pretty complicated. I'd say it was a wreck until He cleaned up the mess.
I'm just one woman among millions of people who have decided to listen to God. Who listened to His call for me to write the most intimate details of my life. To lay it all out there. Complete transparency. Am I crazy? Probably.
What I've learned is that if I don't put into action what I hear the Holy Spirit tell me to do? That's when life gets seriously cray cray. Crazy with a capital C.
Do you remember when Jesus told his disciples to follow Him? They literally left their families. Their livelihoods. Their homes. They dropped everything just to be with Him. They knew they were called to live their lives with and for Jesus.
What is God whispering to your soul? What whisper have you heard in your spirit? Have you listened? Or have you ignored Him because it's just not comfortable? Not socially acceptable? Has He asked you to better balance your family budget? Has He asked you to follow a different social crowd? Has He asked you to spend more time with your children? Has He asked you to put your spouse first and yourself last? Has He asked you to just be still and spend more time with Him?
My grown daughters have learned that at some point in their day, if spending it with me, they will be embarrassed. It's just a fact. Sometimes things come out of my mouth that I have no control of.
Yesterday I went into a gas station to get a diet Sunkist. When I walked to the counter the young man behind the register said "Anybody ever tell you you look like a movie star?" I cracked up. I told him that he made my day. "Nah, listen here ma'am I be serious. That's my highest compliment you look all famous". Drum roll. Wait for it. And out it popped "I don't want to be famous". "Yes you do's! Everybody wants a be famous or rich". "Not me" I replied. "But if I had to be I'd like to be famous for sharing Jesus". And there it was. The young man looked at me as if I had been smoking crack. After an uncomfortable three second pause "Well, Amen, then sister! Right on!"

Following Jesus means a complete and total transformation of your life. It means dying to the flesh. It means putting yourself last and Him first. It means saying whatever He tells you to say at any particular moment. Not gonna lie its sometimes hard and uncomfortable. But the reward? Life changing!
I can't tell you when or how it happened. But one day I just realized I was tired. Everything was a battle. There seemed to be no deep purpose in my life. Not my job, not my kids, not my husband. So I just laid it out there. Told God it was time for Him to be in charge. Greatest decision I've ever made!
In the early years He weeded out. Then He pruned. Then He grew my faith. Then He challenged me. And now I think He just likes to humor me. Case in point the cashier.
Have you heeded His wishes? Or have you continued on with your life the way you best see fit? He's an awesome ride! Say "yes" to Him today. I promise...you won't be sorry.
“So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.” -James 4:17
